Top 10 Books I've Read in 2012

I'm really excited to be taking part in the Top 10 of 2012: A week of looking back... and looking forward! I participated last year on Kaleidoscopic Reveries, so it's nice to be able to carry it over to She Dreams in Fiction. This year, the Top 10 is hosted by Lisa from A Life Bound By Books, Jessica from Confessions of a Bookaholic, Rachel from Fiktshun, Jaime from Two Chicks on Books, and Mindy from Magical Urban Fantasy Reads.

Todays topic is...

I has been one heck of a year! Though I didn't read as many books as I had hoped to, I have read some pretty awesome ones. So, without further ado, here are ten of my favorite reads this year (in no particular order):

A Million Suns by Beth Revis
Oh man, this was so good! I had to read it as soon as I got it. The only bad thing about it was that after reading, I had to wait A MILLION YEARS to read the final book! Thankfully, it comes out soon.

Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
Talk about swoon city! I loved every single bit of this one. Made me wish I could travel to Paris and see if I could find me own sweet, English/French/American boy. Yum!

Shift & Shine by Jeri Smith-Ready
Holy freakin' heck, what an amazing series! Shine was especially fantastic... the absolute perfect end to an absolute perfect series!

The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater
I wanted to read something a little different... I certainly got my wish! Such an imaginative, unique, brilliant story from one of the best authors ever!

Daughter of Smoke and Bone & Days of Blood and Starlight by Laini Taylor
Talk about a one-two punch of awesomeness! After devouring the first book, I simply HAD to jump directly into the second. Now it's just the waiting game until the next one comes out... in a YEAR! I'm going to die.

Cinder by Marissa Meyer
I love me a good fairy tale retold and this one hits it out of the park. A cyborg Cinderella? Heck yes!

Legend by Marie Lu
I need to know what happens right now! A great debut novel by a fantastic new author.

I Hunt Killers by Barry Lyga
Though I approached this one cautiously, it blew me away! An absolutely amazing first novel to a very promising series.

 Goddess Interrupted by Aimee Carter
There is so much emotion in this sequel! It's an up and down roller coaster from start to finish. And speaking of that ending...

The Unwanteds by Lisa McMann
Hands down the best middle-grade book I read all year. Adventure, danger, magic, living stone creatures... it's simply magical!

Gah! That was SO HARD to narrow down! I know, I know... I cheated a little with adding two books in the same series. I couldn't help it! If not, I would have had to bump something else out; it was hard enough to pick the ones I have above! I didn't include my rereads (The Perks of Being a Wallflower, I Capture the Castle, and the audiobooks for Shiver and Linger), but they're also fantastic. Sadly, I didn't review all of them this year, but I hope to do better next year. I do have reviews saved in my drafts and scheduled to be posted, though! Stay tuned! (By the way, as those saved reviews get posted, I'll update the links above... just so's ya know.)
