Let's continue with the Top 10 of 2012: A week of looking back... and looking forward, hosted by Lisa from A Life Bound By Books, Jessica from Confessions of a Bookaholic, Rachel from Fiktshun, Jaime from Two Chicks on Books, and Mindy from Magical Urban Fantasy Reads.
It was actually very interesting going through my 2012 reads and trying to pick out ten couples I can't help but love. It was interesting because I didn't really find it that difficult! I've read some serious swoon-worthy books this year and there are some definite standout couples. So in a semi-particular order, here are my favorites (including couples from rereads... because I can):
Aura and Zachary from Shift and Shine by Jeri Smith-ReadyOh my word, their relationship is stunning. They are really there for one another and there is no end to what they would do to be together. They're simply made for each other.
Anna and Etienne from Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie PerkinsThese two are simply too adorable! Etienne St Clair is a freakin' dream and Anna couldn't escape his appeal (and neither could I). These two compliment one another very well and I really hope we get to see (or hear) more of them in Isla and the Happily Ever After next year!
Zuzana and Mik from Days of Blood and Starlight by Laini Taylor
How freakin' cute are these two?! In what turned out to be quite a dark sequel to Daughter of Smoke and Bone, Zuzana and Mik brought a lot of humanity and romance to the story. These two are so incredibly in love, it's almost ridiculous. Almost, but not quite... it's just that adorable.
Lily and Quince from Fins Are Forever by Tera Lynn Childs
Again, these two were made for each other. Lily is such a spaz and Quince really grounds her. They may have had a rough start, but boy are they perfect together.
Charlotte and Harlin from A Need So Beautiful by Suzanne Young
Holy swoon, these two are amazing. Charlotte has this HUGE secret and Harlin is so incredibly patient with her about it. Though I was screaming for her to tell him from the start, I always had hope they could work anything out. A beautiful relationship in a beautiful book.
Sara and Tobey from When It Happens by Susane Colasanti
There's just something about a relationship in which one partner brings out the best in the other. I simply love that! Sara is so good for Tobey, it's insane. He is also exactly who she needs, too. They balance one another out very well.
Connie and Jazz from I Hunt Killers by Barry Lyga
This may come as a surprise, but there is a fantastic couple within this dark novel! Being the son of a serial killer, Jazz is always worried about what he might be capable of. Connie is the absolute perfect girl for him! She's confident, smart, brave and she has complete faith in Jazz. SUCH a good match!
Amy and Elder from A Million Suns by Beth Revis
Okay... this one is a little more tough because Elder really kind of carries the relationship. Amy is so confused by everything that has happened to her since waking up, she can't see what's right in front of her face! She so infuriating, but Elder is patience personified. These two have some serious capabilities to be a top-notch couple and I can't wait to see if that's explored more in Shades of Earth.
Cinder and Kai from Cinder by Marissa Meyer
This one, admittedly, might be stretching it a bit. I wanted the two of them to be a couple the second Kai showed up at Cinders shop! This is a case where, whilst reading, I simply knew these two had to be together. They just do!
