Let's continue with the Top 10 of 2012: A week of looking back... and looking forward, hosted by Lisa from A Life Bound By Books, Jessica from Confessions of a Bookaholic, Rachel from Fiktshun, Jaime from Two Chicks on Books, and Mindy from Magical Urban Fantasy Reads.

Today's topic...

This is going to be an amazing year for books, I can already tell. Out of all the lists this week, this one was probably the most difficult. Most of these are part of a series. I also just realized that most don't have covers yet. What the? Anyway, here are just ten of the books I'm looking forward to in 2013 (in order or release date):

I read about so many wonderful book boys this year, guys! It was really difficult to decide which guys to pick, but I finally cemented the list... I think. For the most part. Some guys are even from the same book(s), too. I definitely love me a well-written guy and I certainly met some this year. SO! Without further ado, here are my top 10 fictional guy, in no particular order (prepare for some swooning):

It was actually very interesting going through my 2012 reads and trying to pick out ten couples I can't help but love. It was interesting because I didn't really find it that difficult! I've read some serious swoon-worthy books this year and there are some definite standout couples. So in a semi-particular order, here are my favorites (including couples from rereads... because I can):

There were so many amazing covers this year! There are bound to be repeats from yesterday's topic, but it just can't be helped. The cover if very often the first thing that piques my interest about a book. I'm extremely visual, so if the cover is only so-so - and I've heard little to nothing about the book in the first place - there's a high chance I won't read it. That might be awful, but it's just how it is. So, in no particular order, here are my 2012 favorite book covers:

What if the world's worst serial killer...was your dad?

Jasper (Jazz) Dent is a likable teenager. A charmer, one might say.

But he's also the son of the world's most infamous serial killer, and for Dear Old Dad, Take Your Son to Work Day was year-round. Jazz has witnessed crime scenes the way cops wish they could--from the criminal's point of view.

And now bodies are piling up in Lobo's Nod.

In an effort to clear his name, Jazz joins the police in a hunt for a new serial killer. But Jazz has a secret - could he be more like his father than anyone knows?

I was hesitant to start reading this book, but I'm glad I did. I Hunt Killers is definitely not something anyone would expect to see me reading (I was reading it without the dust jacket on... check it out below), but I simply couldn't deny my interest in it. I mean, a story about a teenage boy who grows up with one of the country's most notorious serial killers as his father? What the?! Being a huge fan of the show Criminal Minds, I really didn't see any way that I could resist. I am, admittedly, a huge chicken though. I wasn't sure if I would find this scary or nightmare-inducing, hence why I almost didn't pick it up. Thankfully, this story didn't so much scare me to nightmares as it made me incredibly... worried.

Standing on the fringes of life... offers a unique perspective. But there comes a time to see what it looks like from the dance floor.

This haunting novel about the dilemma of passivity vs. passion marks the stunning debut of a provocative new voice in contemporary fiction: The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

This is the story of what it's like to grow up in high school. More intimate than a diary, Charlie's letters are singular and unique, hilarious and devastating. We may not know where he lives. We may not know to whom he is writing. All we know is the world he shares. Caught between trying to live his life and trying to run from it puts him on a strange course through uncharted territory. The world of first dates and mixed tapes, family dramas and new friends. The world of sex, drugs, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show, when all one requires is that perfect song on that perfect drive to feel infinite.

Through Charlie, Stephen Chbosky has created a deeply affecting coming-of-age story, a powerful novel that will spirit you back to those wild and poignant roller coaster days known as growing up.

She Dreams in Fiction has launched!

Welcome to my new little spot on the blogosphere! I am so incredibly excited to announce the birth of my new book-centric blog, She Dreams in Fiction! I was enjoying myself over at Kaleidoscopic Reveries, but I wanted to do more than books there. I decided I would try my hand at running a blog completely focused on all things bookish... so that is what I've done.

So what can you expect with this new blog?
I hope to have a lot of stuff going on, including giveaways, reviews, author events, book tours and more! Hopefully this will become a place where I can share my thoughts about the books I'm reading and hopefully spread the love of reading. There is still a little construction going on (waiting on the Review Policy and a few other items), but I hope you'll enjoy your visit and come back often. If I start to slack off at all, feel free to let me know by any means necessary that I need to get busy. I mean it. (I hope I don't regret that in the future... yikes!)

Wait, what's going to happen to Kaleidoscopic Reveries?
Have no fear, my original blog will remain alive. I plan on transitioning it back to a more personal blog (books took over! hee hee) where I can talk about what music has captured my attention, places I've gone, yummy foods I've eaten and other various life happenings. As I have yet to decide what is best with regards to the reviews I've already posted on KR, they're going to remain active there. There are links to the original reviews found above in the Review page. I hope you'll visit them and let me know what you think!

I'm not quite sure if this first post is making any sense, but it was kind of a last minute idea. Should you have any questions, don't hesitate to shoot me an email at litza@shedreamsinfiction.com. My first review is scheduled for later today, followed by a... GIVEAWAY! That's right, folks. I'm going to be pimping out my blog shamelessly by giving away a signed copy of a classic Young Adult novel. What novel might that be? Guess you'll just have to come back and see, huh?

SO! Welcome to She Dreams in Fiction! I hope we'll be able to have a lot of fun in this adventure together. As always...

Happy Reading!

Oh yeah! Feel free to grab my blog button. Designs and all that may change in the future... but for now, I hope this will be alright for ya!
