Hallo again, bookish lovelies! As I was trying to figure out what to share this week, I thought I'd get inspiration from my bookshelves. It has come to my attention that I might have gone a smidge overboard with buying books recently... ahem. As a result of my book frenzy, I've decided this summer that I'm going to read as many books from my own shelves as I can.
So which books are calling to me most? It looks like a lot of contemporary. But, I have been wanting to read more in that genre. Next up are a couple middle-grade books I've been wanting to read. The last two are books I've been told to read by friends. One is an angel book that my friend Amy swears I'll love regardless of my opinion on angel books. The other one is about mermaids, which my friend Jen loves and hopes that I'll fall in love with too. I don't know that I'm really a fan of either, but we shall see!
So without further ado, here are ten of the books I hope to read this summer:
1. Twenty Boy Summer by Sarah Ockler
2. Take Me There by Susane Colasanti
3. Amy & Roger's Epic Detour by Morgan Matson
4. The DUFF by Kody Keplinger
5. The Fine Art of Truth or Dare by Melissa Jensen
6. Golden by Jessi Kirby
The Middle-Grade Lovelies
7. Loki's Wolves by K. L. Armstrong and M. A. Marr
8. Wonder by R. J. Palacio
The I'm-Not-Sure-It's-My-Thing-But-I'll-Try-It Friend Recs
9. Fallen by Lauren Kate
10. Of Poseidon by Anna Banks
What do you guys think of these picks? Are there any contemporary novels that I should try first? How about some awesome middle-grade picks I can enjoy? What's your opinion on mermaids and angels? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
