I'm really excited to be taking part in the Top 10 of 2013: A week of looking back... and looking forward! This year, the Top 10 is hosted by Rachel from Fiktshun, Jaime from Two Chicks on Books, and Mindy from Magical Urban Fantasy Reads. All week, we'll be celebrating the awesomeness of reading with a different topic each day. If you'd like to join in or learn more, click on the banner above!

Top 10 Book Boyfriends of 2013

I love me some book boyfriends, you guys! I was really lucky to read some amazing ones this year. Some were old favorites, some were new and some have even shot right up to the top of favorite guys ever. I just really love a well-written guy... especially if he's a nice guy. I'm such a sucker for the boy next door type, it's not even funny. Le sigh...

So, without further ado, here are ten book boyfriends I fell for from books I've read this year:

James from The Program by Suzanne Young
I love him. James is such an amazing, romantic, strong guy and he really tries to keep everyone together.

Ryan from More Than Jamie Baker by Kelly Oram
I totally fell for Ryan in Being Jamie Baker, but my love for him grew so freakin' much with the second book. He's just so charming! I dare you to try and not fall in love with Ryan. It's not possible, I tell you! Oh my word, I can't wait for the next book! More Ryan Miller, please!!

Nate from Goodbye, Rebel Blue by Shelley Coriell
Nate's a real do-gooder, he's smart, he's an overachiever, he cares about the environment and he's just an all-around nice guy. I really, really like him.

Captain Carswell Thorne from Scarlet by Marissa Meyer
I can't help myself... I find Thorne freakin' irresistible! He's so charming and funny and snarky, but totally not the "good guy" type I typically like. He really reminds me of Captain Jack Harkness from Doctor Who, too... that could be one reason why I love him so much.

Grayson from The Avery Shaw Experiment by Kelly Oram
Yet another bad boy! This is most surprising, but when you meet Grayson, you'll be unable to resist his charms, too. He's exactly what Avery needs to get over her heartbreak... and she's exactly what he needs, too.

Montgomery from The Madman's Daughter by Megan Shepherd
Montgomery is really quite gentle, which is incredibly appealing to me in a guy. Though this story as a whole is quite horrific, I find Montgomery to be a beacon of light. Oh my word, that was so cheesy!

So, like last year, I was trying to follow the rules and just pick guys from 2013 releases that I read, but I didn't read enough of them. So I'm cheating a little and including guys from books I read for the first time this year, though the books were released in a previous year. If that makes sense. Ahem.

Josh from Bittersweet by Sarah Ockler
Josh is such a nice guy! He's friendly and kind and helpful and, like I said, a nice guy. I love those nice guys!!

"Eddie" from Midnight in Austenland by Shannon Hale
I know he's "cast" as being Charlotte's brother during her stay in Austenland, but I wanted her to be with Eddie SO BAD! He is SUCH a nice guy! I love him to bits, you guys... can you tell?

Derek from Epic Fail by Claire LaZebnik
Derek is a softer version of Mr. Darcy in this modern retelling of Pride and Prejudice... and I like it! I like him. More Derek, please!

Oliver from The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith
Oliver is witty and fun and charming as heck. He's also British and a little bit broken, but he's so wonderful that you won't be able to resist liking him.

And because I just can't leave these guys off this list, here are some honorable mentions from my rereads (they were also featured on my yearly Top 10 thingie in previous years!):

Percy Jackson from The Mark of Athena by Rick Riordan - I will always, ALWAYS, love Percy!
Sean Kendrick from The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater - Sexy, serious, wonderful man!
Etienne St. Clair from Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins -
Zachary Moore from the novella Shattered by Jeri Smith-Ready - It would just be wrong not to have Zach on this list in some form... for the third year in a row! By the way, Shattered is free if you go HERE! GO GO GO!
