I think this year was particularly wonderful for cover eye candy, let me just say. I'm definitely the kind of person to fall head over heels for a beautiful and/or interesting cover, so this topic today is perfect! I've decided to keep the list to those books that were released this year, regardless of whether or not I had the chance to read them.

So, in no particular order, here are my favorite book covers of 2013:

Let the Sky Fall by Shannon Messenger - It's virtually impossible for this cover to NOT grab my attention! I mean, they're floating in air... and she looks like she's saving him. So awesome.

The Dream Thieves by Maggie Stiefvater - All of Maggie's covers are pretty dang amazing, and this one is no exception. It's just so striking and... dark!

Insanity by Cameron Jace - This cover is awesome! You immediately get the idea that it has something to do with Alice in Wonderland. I love the world of Wonderland, so I want to know about this story... and why it looks like she has specks of blood on her face.

This is What Happy Looks Like by Jennifer E. Smith - I love all of Jennifer's books so far. You can tell, just by looking at them, that they're a Jennifer E. Smith book. It's awesome!

The Chaos of Stars by Kiersten White - Honestly, I love this cover because it's so breathtakingly gorgeous! It's one that is even better in person, because it steals your breath away. Gah! So amazing!

This Song Will Save Your Life by Leila Sales - This cover (as well as the title) instantly drew me in. I love the font and the colors and the awesome headphones and glasses and the fact that we can't see the girls full face and and and... I love it.

Scarlet by Marissa Meyer - Yet another amazing cover for the Lunar Chronicles! It's simply fantastic, I tell you!

Shades of Earth by Beth Revis - I wasn't so keen on the redesigns of the first two books, but I think I really do like this one. I'm not so sure I like the title font design, but I do like the plants that almost seem to be growing right over a metallic ship-like thing. The colors are really pretty and the whole thing looks really good in person.

Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell - I absolutely adore the simplicity of this book. It was the simple design that initially drew me in... then I received a bajillion recommendations for it. Needless to say, it's sitting cozy on my shelf right now, waiting for me to dive in.

The Uprising by Lisa M. Stasse - This cover simultaneously creeps me out and intrigues me. I mean, what the heck is going on! I love the colors a lot, too... it's all so trippy!

  1. So many of these I still need to read!! We do share a couple in common though. I really like The Forsaken series covers so far. I need to start those books soon. Thanks for sharing!

  2. I just recently saw the cover for Insanity and I completely love it, I also really want to read the book because it's a darker twist on one of my favorite stories.
