The #1 New York Times bestselling middle grade powerhouse of Lemoncello fame brings his wit and humor to a pint-sized audience in his picture book debut that turs the universal dilemma of getting kids to sleep on its head.

It’s time for a nap but, just like stubborn toddlers everywhere, Annalise Devin McFleece won’t have anything to do with bedtime. Dad tries to encourage sleepiness by pushing her around the park in her stroller. Along the way, they pass a man sitting on a bench, dog walkers walking dogs, a boy on a skateboard, kids playing ball, a girl practicing her juggling, and others. Each of them thinks that taking a nap is a great idea and if Annalise Devin McFleece doesn’t want hers, they’ll happy take it. And one by one, everyone falls asleep…except Annalise Devin McFleece. But when she’s finally ready for her nap, all the naps are taken! Is there anyone who has an extra nap to spare?

With every turn of the page, the busy city scene becomes more and more quiet…except for Annalise Devin McFleece.

Will she ever take a nap?

No More Naps! shines from the first glimpse of the cover. Whether you have your own children, work with children, or have seen children out an about, you have likely witnessed some epic tantrums. Annalise Devin McFleece is a toddler who simply does not want to take a nap! Her parents try everything to get her to sleep, and everyone in the neighborhood is rattled by her squeals and screams. Her father decides to take her to the park in her stroller, hoping that will finally put her to sleep. Though she does not want to nap, everybody they meet in the park thinks a nap is a good idea and catches a few zzz's right then and there. With everybody asleep, Annalise Devin McFleece has nobody to play with or throw a tantrum at, so sleepily she decides she wants to take a nap after all. Unfortunately, all of the naps are taken! Well, except for an extra one a lounging cat offers her. Finally, Annalise Devin McFleece (for you always have to say her full name) falls asleep... and the neighborhood wakes up to peace and quiet.

This picture book is a gem. I read many on a daily basis in my job and I can definitely see this amusing book working in a future storytime program! The charming illustrations help the story along and provide some captivating, colorful, and fun images for the story of a stubborn child refusing to nap. The style kind of reminds me of some of my own favorite childhood books, including Harold and the Purple Crayon by Crockett Johnson, which makes my heart happy. The text isn't so long that it would lose the attention of wigglers. There are also some great audience interaction prompts within the pages that make this even better for a read-aloud.

There is a reason picture books are so cherished. As for No More Naps!, I believe it is bound to be a favorite for generations!
